Retinol is an extremely effective and powerful anti-aging ingredient. You may experience mild redness, warmth, tingling, or peeling (exfoliation of the skin). These sensations are normal and temporary indications that the formula is working. If your skin feels uncomfortable when using Clinique Smart Night Multi-Dimensional Repair Treatment with Retinol, use it once every other night until your skin adjusts. This adjustment may take up to 4 weeks. For those new to retinol and those with drier skin types, to reduce discomfort, they may find it more comfortable to use Clinique Smart Night Multi-Dimensional Repair Treatment with Retinol every other night for more than 2 weeks to allow extra time for the skin to adjust. For added comfort, use a gentle cleanser and an additional moisturizer over Clinique Smart Night Multi-Dimensional Repair Treatment. Limit sun exposure in general. Be sure to apply sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher during the day while using the treatment and for one week after discontinuing use of Clinique Smart Night MD with Retinol. Keep in mind that extreme weather conditions, such as wind or cold, can cause skin irritation, so take appropriate precautions to protect your face.
