Peppermint essential oil has analgesic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antispasmodic, antiviral, astringent, expectorant, and fever-reducing effects, and acts as a nerve tonic.
It is antiseptic and very useful for treating wounds, dermatitis, ringworm, scabies, and acne.
Due to its high menthol content, peppermint essential oil refreshes the skin and is effective in invigorating skin products, such as foot lotions and after-sun creams.
It can be added to bathwater to tone and stimulate the skin.
It has calming effects on tired and swollen legs.
Skin Type :
- For the skin: Dilute a few drops with water or another vegetable oil and apply to a cotton ball or compress, massaging into the skin.
- For the mouth: Dilute a few drops with water and rinse for 30 seconds.
- For inhalation: Apply a few drops to a diffuser or vaporizer.
