To check for lice, use the fine-toothed lice comb (Paranix) and thoroughly check all the dry hair of each family member, preferably in daylight.
Apply the treatment to everyone with lice on the same day to prevent re-infestation.
- It's easy to check with dry hair.
- First, brush the hair to detangle it, then check the hair strand by strand.
- Check the roots of the hair, behind the ears, and the nape of the neck, as these are the areas where lice and nits are usually found.
- After each use, thoroughly clean the lice comb with warm, soapy water to prevent future infestations.
Apply the Paranix spray from a distance of about 10 cm from the hair, applying a sufficient amount of Paranix solution evenly to dry hair. Make sure to apply it to all of the hair and scalp. Massage well from the roots to the ends, paying particular attention to the neck area and behind the ears. Leave the solution on for 15 minutes. This is vital for the treatment to work. After the treatment (15 minutes), wash the hair with a cosmetic shampoo; apply it directly to the hair, without wetting it first. Lather the head well and then rinse with plenty of water (try not to use cold water).
Repeat the washing procedure.
Removing lice and nits
Before drying the hair on the lowest heat setting, use the fine-toothed lice comb (Paranix) to remove lice and nits.
- Comb the damp hair with the fine-toothed lice comb.
- Divide the hair into 4 sections: from the forehead to the nape of the neck and from one ear to the other. With long hair, you can braid each section.
- Treat each section by separating the hair into strands so that the scalp is visible.
- Comb each strand, starting as close to the scalp as possible.
- Using the nit comb, remove each louse and/or nit found.
- Push aside each strand of hair that is free of lice and/or nits.
- To prevent re-infestation, clean the nit comb with a cotton pad after passing it over each strand. Always comb from the top of the head to the bottom.
Repeat the treatment only after 7 days if the infestation persists.
