Traditional Japanese-style cast iron teapot in black.

Cast iron teapots, also called "Tetsubin", have been an essential part of the tea ceremony in Japan.

The choice of material was not only to keep the tea hot for longer, but also for its high durability.

Tetsubin became a social symbol where, according to their ornamentation, the host's purchasing power was demonstrated.

Iron teapots are handcrafted, forged by iron artisans, and following strict steps that ensure their quality. Therefore, each Tetsubin is unique and unrepeatable, giving a unique value to such a precious object.

Perfect for a tea tasting due to its size.

Capacity: 300 ml.
Dimensions: 11 x 8 x 12 cm.

  1. Before using the teapot, rinse it with boiling water. This will not only remove impurities but also warm the metal, preventing the infusion water from cooling down too quickly.
  2. Although you can supposedly place these teapots directly on the stove to heat water, it is not recommended if you want them to last longer, as the exterior color could fade.
  3. Heat the water in a kettle and pour it into your teapot. Do not use soap to wash it; hot water is sufficient. Never put scouring pads inside, as you risk scratching the enamel and causing rust to appear. If this happens, and the inside of the teapot gets scratched and rust appears, don't worry; clean it with a brush and continue using it. Over time, the tannins in the tea will create a patina that will cover the affected area. Do not leave tea inside the teapot all day, as it will ferment, and the tea will lose all its properties and flavor. Wash it with water after each use.
