Hemi-squalane is a nonpolar hydrocarbon produced from the fermentation of sugar-based raw materials. Squalane and hemi-squalane are excellent non-comedogenic emollients that can help reduce the ongoing loss of moisture that weakens dermal elasticity and flexibility. However, due to its low molecular weight, hemi-squalane has greater spreadability and leaves a light, dry feel, making it very suitable for reducing frizz. The 100% plant-derived hemi-squalane used in this product is USDA certified.
